SHENZHEN, China - Tuesday, November 25th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hytera Communications, a world’s leading Professional Mobile Radio communications solution provider, has won the contract of upgrading the existing analog radio trunking network to Digital Mobile Radio network for Altech Fleetcall, a division of Altech Radio Holdings (ARH) and part of the Altron TMT Group.
Altech Fleetcall is the only company owning a national radio trunking communications network in South Africa, which is arguably the largest operational MPT1327 network in the world. With Hytera's Digital Mobile Radio system, a highly advanced ETSI standard Tier 3 trunking solution, the national network will have comprehensive elevation including higher data speed, GPS tracking, flexible dispatching, multi-level monitoring, larger subscriber capacity and crystal clear voice quality.
“We explored a number of options to upgrade the predominant analog network to a digital solution to provide our existing and potential customers with the tremendous benefits of digital radio technology,” Brett Nash said, Managing Director of Altech Radio Holdings.
“We chose Hytera based on the company’s R&D reputation, quality of their products and the mutually beneficial relationship our two companies have enjoyed since 2007,” says Brett Nash.
The potential of network upgrading in South Africa is growing, Nash agreed, "Should the subscriber uptake warrant it, the network could potentially grow to 250 sites nationally. These sites would be deployed over a number of phases and be aligned with where the company perceives the greatest benefit.”
