Community Police Showcase Experience at Emirates Volunteering Conference

The Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) showcased its volunteering experience in police work, as a part of the sixth Emirates Volunteering Conference, which was held in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Social Responsibility Forum. The conference took place on Monday morning, at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) in Abu Dhabi, and was attended by 44 government and private institutions.
Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police noted that volunteer work is a new kind of nobility and a worthy act of philanthropy, which aims to serve the various segments of society. He reiterated the unwavering and ongoing support provided by the wise leadership to promote volunteerism and encourage voluntary work among the different sectors of society particularly the youth, in addition to organizing and adopting volunteering projects.
Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairom added that the Community Police Department constantly strives to instill the values ​​of social responsibility and promote the culture of volunteering, in a bid to support and promote security, progress and development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He said, “The Community Police Department is keen to encourage volunteer work, as a part of the strategic initiatives implemented by the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, to enhance community members’ competencies and efforts to promote security and public safety in the country.”
Adding further, Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairom indicated that, “The sixth Emirates Volunteering Conference, which was held in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Social Responsibility Forum, with the pronounced participation of the Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Community Police Department, aims to instill a culture of volunteering among the country’s youth. During the conference, the department introduced a number of police recruits, who gave an honorable and distinguished image of volunteering work.”
Captain Tareq Juma Al Junaibi, from the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, presented a work paper regarding the Abu Dhabi Police initiative, a first-of-its-kind initiative at the level of police departments in the UAE; stressing the police leadership’s commitment to support volunteer work, in an effort to enhance security and stability of society.
Moreover, a documentary film was screened as a part of the sixth Emirates Volunteering Conference, highlighting the Zayed Giving initiative in volunteer work at the local and international levels. During the inaugural ceremony, the Community Police Department received the “Emirates Award for Voluntary Work”, as a tribute to strategic partners engaged in supporting and promoting voluntary work and social responsibility.
