While Attending the Graduation of the First National Team of Documents Examination Experts

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, underscored the higher leadership's keenness to provide national cadres who man the various countries’ points of entry with extensive necessary training on the use of the latest technologies to detect documents fraud and illegal entry attempts into the UAE.
Major General Al Khaili reiterated the MoI’s commitment to thoroughly examine the documents provided by travelers and to arrest those using false or falsified passports. He also noted that the UAE has become a security hub, thanks to the support and attention of its leadership. “The Ministry of Interior strives to achieve the UAE's vision of becoming one of the safest and secure countries in the world. The achievements attained by the UAE in terms of security and safety are highly important gains that must be maintained, in support of the efforts to fight and eradicate crime,” indicated Major General Al Khaili.
These remarks were made by H.E Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, in his speech at the graduation of the first batch of national document examination and fraud detection experts at the Emirates Institute of Naturalization, Residency and Ports.
Major General Al Khaili congratulated the graduates, urging them to further develop their skills, apply efficiently and effectively the expertise and knowledge they acquired in this course in their work, and to share their expertise with their colleagues.
The ceremony was attended by a number of senior officers; Major Mohammed Saeed Al Ameri, Director of the Institute; and the members of the faculty and administrative body at the Institute.
Moreover, Major General Al Khaili reviewed the training needs program, through analyzing and measuring employee competency at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector. The first phase of this program was implemented at the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi; the Directorate General of Resources and Support Services; the Directorate General of Naturalization; and the Directorate General of Ports.
During his presentation of the Program, Major Mohammed Saeed Al Ameri, Director of the Emirates Institute of Naturalization, Residency and Ports, noted that identifying and analyzing functional competencies is achieved via a field study to identify and assess functional competencies that are determined by specific duties and responsibilities. They can also be achieved by analyzing the functional competencies for all duties and responsibilities; and by identifying the criteria for excellence in performance, according to the Ministry of Interior’s vision.
On the same note, Major Al Ameri highlighted the level of competence attained by the directorates general included in the first stage of evaluation, as well as the required training plan to bridge the competency, knowledge and behavior gaps among staff members.
In conclusion, the Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs commended the outcomes of the first phase of evaluation. He also called for developing a training plan pursuant to the Ministry's priorities, which focuses on addressing shortcomings determined by the program, in a bid to attain the highest levels of excellence.
