ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, October 15th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior launched a marketing campaign to introduce the services offered by the MoI via smart phone applications. The application, UAE MoI, enables citizens, residents, and institutions to apply for services via smartphones.
The MoI has designated the number 8005000 for the communication center to receive customer inquiries and suggestions. The MoI also stressed that the smart applications center effectively employs nationals who provide all of the electronic procedures in a way that contributes to the accessibility of the services to all individuals. The citizen staff members are always up-to-date with the developments in the realms of information technology and smart applications.
Lt. Colonel Saeed Al Khajah, Deputy Director of the Security Media Department, stated that the services bundle launched by the MoI falls within the framework of the UAE government’s commitment to pay attention to the quality of life for the community of the UAE. “UAE MoI embodies the strategy of the MoI in providing exceptional services that are in accordance with the best international standards, and in enhancing public confidence and customer satisfaction with the provided services,” Lt. Colonel Al Khajah said.
As part of the ongoing transition of the federal government for utilizing smart phones, the services contribute to these continuous efforts by facilitating access for citizens and residents and save both time and effort. Additionally, Lt. Colonel Al Khajah encouraged members of the community to utilize these applications and to contribute in raising awareness among family members by introducing them to the methods and procedures of the application.
Lt. Colonel Al Khajah said that the campaign will be conducted via the media, social media, modes of transportation, and on electronic screens throughout the UAE. The campaign will elaborate on the provided services, and provide instructions on how to use the applications and where to go to subscribe on the MoI website.
“The MoI platform supports Apple, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows smart phones,” Lt. Colonel Al Khajah noted. “It provides an electronic link with a number of partners in the UAE, vehicle inspection and insurance companies, and an integrated comprehensive link to the ministry’s website. Through the unified log-in mechanism (username and password), users are able to obtain services from any channel of electronic communication. Users only need to register once using the single sign-in feature on the website or through their smart phones, and will then be able to gain access to all of the MoI’s services.”
It is worth mentioning that the number of individuals already using the applications that the MoI has launched early this year amounts to 205,000 users to date, with an average of 54,000 uses per day of the applications; while the number of the subscribers via the Emirates ID card amounts to 62,000 users.
