Hay Group to Host Conference on “Leading Transformation” in Shanghai, November 27-28

Ram Charan, Ma Xu Lun, Song Lin among plenary speakers

SHANGHAI - Tuesday, September 10th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Stephen Kaye, president and CEO of Hay Group, the global management consultancy, announced today that the firm will be hosting its International Conference on 27 and 28 November 2013 at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel, Shanghai.

The conference theme. The theme of this year’s conference is “Leading Transformation.” Intended for senior business leaders, the conference will explore the critical issue of business and organisational transformation, with particular emphasis on leaders and their ability to lead the transformation of organisations, performance and people.

Hay Group believes that truly innovative companies are continually looking to transform and improve their business. These organisations don’t wait for a talent shortage, economic crisis or fall in sales to force changes in their business. Instead they seek to transform the business for future success.

This transformation must be an ongoing, rather than a one-off, business process. The ability to lead impactful business transformation will differentiate the best leaders from the rest.

CEO Stephen Kaye commented, “I believe that the theme of the conference is of particular relevance to business leaders today who are operating in an increasingly globalised world, where volatility is the order of the day. It is hard to find an organisation that isn’t going through some form of transformation to meet changing market needs, and the ability to successfully manage this process is crucial for organisations to both survive and succeed.”

Indeed, Hay Group knows that the best companies are constantly in a state of transformation and leaders should not be waiting for an external or internal crisis to undertake transformation. The best leaders are always planning for and thinking about transformation. Increasingly, the most effective leaders are anticipating future market and customer trends, they are proactively adapting to future workforce changes and they take steps well ahead of any financial imperative to affect shifts within their organisation: these leaders have made transformation business as usual. They transform even when there is no “burning platform” to do so. This conference will feature speakers who have pushed the envelopes of their companies’ innovation while maintaining operational excellence.

Wayne Chen, Hay Group’s Managing Director for Northeast Asia, commented, “China and Asia have become a ‘must win battle’ for many ambitious companies in the world. The energy and creativity demonstrated by Asian companies in transforming their businesses and organizations is inspirational to many business leaders.”

The conference location. Shanghai literally means the city by the sea. Shanghai is situated on the west shore of the Pacific Ocean, right in the middle of China's east coastline. It serves as the most influential economic, financial, international trade, cultural, science and technology centre in East China. Also it is a popular destination for visitors to sense the pulsating development of the country.

In addition to its modernisation, the city's multicultural flair endows it with a unique glamour. Here, one finds the perfect blend of cultures, the modern and the traditional, and the western and the oriental. New skyscrapers and old Shikumen together draw the skyline of the city. Western customs and Chinese traditions intertwined and formed Shanghai's culture, making a visitor's stay truly memorable.
