ICT Department’s Staff members and Partners take part in Annual Ceremony

 Pledging to maintain the excellence achievements

The ICT Department at Abu Dhabi Police Directorate General of Central Operations recently organized an annual recognition ceremony for its staff members and partners , in appreciation for their efforts and  achievements aimed at serving  police work. The directorate stressed the need to continuously make the necessary updates and developments in order to maintain these gains according to the Ministry of Interior’s vision.   

Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, attended the ceremony that was held at the Armed Forces Officers Club, in the presence of Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police. The ceremony included several events as a tribute for the honorees.

Brigadier Al Harithi expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the efforts exerted by the honorees. “This recognition instills the culture of excellence in society in a way that would benefit everyone,’ he said. He also highlighted the Abu Dhabi Police’s initiatives to sponsor creativity and innovation and to encourage staff members to achieve excellence in various areas of police work. “This aims to provide the best services to the public, in accordance with the best international standards in this field,” he continued.

“The partners play an instrumental role in the services development process and contribute to innovation and creativity, within the framework of the Abu Dhabi Police’s vision, which stipulates the need to strengthen all aspects of cooperation with internal and external partners,” added Brigadier Al Harithi. He also stressed the importance of maintaining the outstanding achievements made at the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department, which reflects positively on all police sectors.

For his part, Abdullah Al Ahmed, Senior Vice President of Enterprise and Government Sales at the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat), praised the Abu Dhabi Police for using the latest technologies and solutions in order to upgrade their services; achieve the highest standards of excellence and sustainability; and transform into the smart government model in order to enhance society’s prosperity and security. He also emphasized that Etisalat’s participation in this event is a part of its strategy to accelerate the pace towards positioning the UAE among the most developed countries.

He also noted that Etisalat enjoys a close relationship with the Abu Dhabi Police in terms of cooperation and achievements, and its participation in this ceremony is testament to this cooperation. He also confirmed that Etisalat is committed to actively cooperate with government institutions in launching joint initiatives.

“The UAE is witnessing exceptional growth and prosperity in the adoption of information and communications technology as well as the latest smart solutions, to empower government sectors and streamline their transition into the smart government model,” added Mr. Al Ahmed.

Attendees watched a documentary film showcasing the nature of work at the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department. They also listened to a detailed overview by Colonel Nasser Al Yabhouni, Head of the Department, about the achievements made as a result of the police leadership’s support for development and modernization; in accordance with the best international standards. He also pointed out to the development of several systems to support the e-transformation of police work in order to save time and effort and provide better services to the public.

Furthermore, Colonel Al Yabhouni highlighted the efforts exerted to strengthen relations with partners, in a way that serves the development and modernization process; motivating employees to achieve creativity and innovation; and maintaining the gains. He considered that the accolade comes in recognition of the efforts exerted by staff members and partners and encourages them to put in additional efforts and work as one team.

The ceremony was attended by officials representing the honored entities from the public and private sectors, in addition to a number of officers from Abu Dhabi Police. It also included a theatrical performance by a number of innovative staff members from the department. The performance is entitled “Customer Service”, and showcases the nature of their work and their role in providing technical support to all police departments. The actors’ performance was highly acclaimed by the attendees amidst a special, entertaining, and festive atmosphere. 

It is worth mentioning that the honoring included the ‘best cooperating third party entity’ as follows: the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority; the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority; the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat); JBM FZ LLC; and Atlas Communications Company.

The honoring also included the ‘best cooperating department’ representing internal partners; the ‘best team and project’; the ‘best cooperating internal and external employee’ representing  external partners; and the ‘best cooperating third party external entity’.
