This participation helps preserve natural resources to support sustainability for future generations.”
Major General Al Rumaithi stressed the importance of concerted efforts amongst world countries to protect the environment and take effective measures to prevent pollution and damage to the environment. He also noted that people around the world dream of a pollution-free world that is safe for both humans and human organisms. “Marking Earth Day is an important step towards increased awareness on the need to preserve the environment,” he continued.

It is the most important environmental occasion for the United Nations. The theme for 2016 is ‘Trees for the Earth’, in order to shed the light on the importance of trees as a resource that serve the planet in a host of ways; notably combating climate change, and in helping communities achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability by providing food, energy and income.
