The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at the Abu Dhabi Police have joined the ‘My Family Reads’ initiative which aims to promote a culture of reading amongst community members. The initiative is supervised by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, which has supplied the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department with knowledge bundles containing select books that discuss various topics.

A delegation from the Foundation presented a number of packages to Brigadier Mohamed Mayouf Al Ketbi, Head of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Abu Dhabi Police, in order to be distributed among the department’s staff members who will in turn share what interests them with their family members. The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department is considered the first department in the UAE to organize this initiative.

Brigadier Al Ketbi stressed the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to support and encourage the efforts made to spread culture and knowledge among the department’s personnel. He also praised the initiative and the efforts of the organizers who distributed a varied collection of valuable books to the targeted families in the UAE; which is in accordance with the standards established by the Foundation for the benefit of all family members.

For his part, Saif Al Mansouri, the Institutional Affairs Adviser for the Managing Director at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, noted that the initiative aims to raise the level of knowledge in the family by encouraging them to read through a selection of valuable and internationally renowned books.

He pointed out that these books have achieved significant sales in various fields and have been translated into Arabic so that the Foundation could use them in this initiative.
