Toshiba Tec Unveils New Cloud Service e-BRIDGE CloudConnect

A cloud-based application that will make customers’ working environment convenient

TOKYO - Tuesday, February 17th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE) - Toshiba Tec (6588), a leading provider of technology solutions introduces its new cloud based application e-BRIDGE CloudConnect, a valuable tool that provides the ability to remotely monitor, configure and service machines in the field. The new e-BRIDGE CloudConnect shows how Toshiba Tec is moving from the traditional to the new way of business with modern technology. It will significantly improve customers’ working environment by increasing uptime, reducing workload and optimising device management.

Increased uptime The e-BRIDGE CloudConnect allows Toshiba multifunction printers (MFP) to connect to a cloud service and automatically communicate with the application to avoid down-time. Based on pre-defined policies, the MFP notifies e-BRIDGE CloudConnect and requests troubleshooting. This way most issues can be resolved remotely. And if on-site servicing is required, the technician exactly knows what has to be done and which service parts are needed. This will reduce the number of service calls and on-site visits.

Reduced workload Thanks to e-BRIDGE, CloudConnect customers do not need to order supplies themselves. The MFP triggers an automatic delivery to ensure the right supplies are available at the right time.

Device management Another advantage of e-BRIDGE CloudConnect is the automatic updating of firmware and settings. The remote device management ensures the MFPs are up-to-date and security settings cannot be tampered with. Customers can rely on full functionality without extra work. In addition, large organisations can benefit from a global management of their entire print fleet, irrespective of the geographical location of their offices. Reports generated with e-BRIDGE CloudConnect will also help monitor and optimise the usage of the systems.

“e-BRIDGE CloudConnect is the next generation service with state-of-the-art and valuable information for our customers. This is a progress from the traditional process of service,” says Tony Takahashi, Senior Manager of Maintenance & Service Planning Department, Toshiba Tec. And he continues, “Currently, this cloud-based application is already available in the U.S., and is successfully optimising customers’ work processes. Toshiba Tec is looking forward to start providing enhanced services with this e-BRIDGE CloudConnect globally this year and support local needs.”

A large number of Toshiba MFPs are operating across the world and Toshiba Tec will improve their customers’ work environment by modernising business workflows. The new e-BRIDGE CloudConnect app will increase companies’ productivity with enhanced fleet management and better device control. Toshiba Tec believes transmitting mutual information will build a solid relationship together with customers, and improve their satisfaction.
