Called for teamwork to help the needy and afflicted

Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, called on search and rescue teams in the region to pursue their efforts and work in coordination and team spirit, building on their noble and humanitarian objectives in helping the needy and afflicted all over the world.
Sheikh Saif met with GCC and Arab delegations, as observers in the joint exercise, which was carried out by the UAE search and rescue team and its Saudi counterpart.
His Highness observed the exercise and was briefed on its various stages by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Al Ansari, Head of the UAE Search and Rescue Team. Lt. Colonel Al Ansari highlighted the importance of boosting the efficiency of the Search and rescue teams. He also commended the efforts of the participating delegations observing the exercise, which was carried out according to the approved international standards.
During the meeting, Sheikh Saif and his visitors exchanged talks on ways to develop search and rescue efforts in disaster situations, and to enhance collaboration in this field in a way that serves humanitarian work, in the region and all over the world. His Highness noted that GCC countries are committed to adopting a proactive approach in humanitarian tasks and duties within the GCC joint action strategy. This embodies the strategy of Their Majesties and Excellencies, leaders of the GCC countries, in accordance with the United Nation’s efforts to improve the efficiency and speed of response of search and rescue operations.
The participating delegations included Lieutenant General Talal Al Kofahi, Director General of the Jordanian Civil Defense; Major General Abid Al Sekhairi, Director of the Civil Defense Department in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Major General Abdullah Al Harthy, Chairman of the Public Authority of Civil Defense and Ambulance in the Sultanate of Oman; Brigadier Mohammed Showaiter, Director General of Civil Defense in Bahrain; Colonel Khalil Al Amir, from the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate; Colonel Ahmed Al Hadithi, from the Saudi Delegation; and Major Ayman Mohammed Al Mofreh, Liaison Officer from Kuwait.
The meeting was attended by Major General, Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Al Ansari, Head of the UAE Search and Rescue Team; and Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department.
