Two More Environmentally Conscious Customers Install Toshiba's eSTUDIO306LP/RD30 Multifunctional System with Erasable Toner

“European Climate Foundation” and “Nehlsen” case studies

TOKYO - Thursday, February 6th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)- Toshiba TEC (TOKYO:6588), global leader in printing and imaging solutions and services, announced two more successful sales in Europe: The European Climate Foundation (Netherlands) and Nehlsen GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) installed the e-STUDIO306LP/RD30.

The e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 is a unique MFP system with erasable toner that enables paper to be reused up to five times and archives the documents electronically via its scanning function. Since it has been released, several industries such as logistics, press, education, environmental groups, manufacturing etc. have installed this paper reusing system.

Practice what you preach

The European Climate Foundation is a philanthropic initiative to promote climate and energy policies to greatly reduce Europe’s green-house gas emissions. In the summer of 2013, the ECF relocated to a new head office in The Hague – reason enough to switch to a new sensational printing system that by erasing print-outs, can repeatedly reuse paper. After all, the ground-breaking Eco-MFP fits seamlessly in the modern green office, thanks to the tangible contribution it makes in the battle to mitigate climate change. Completely in line with ECF’s mission and core values.

“Practice what you preach,” explained Gabriela Terán Malo, Event & Office Manager at the European Climate Foundation. “But we didn’t know that there are systems that can reduce paper consumption by 80% and therefore support environmentally printing behaviour. We were looking forward to this printer innovation even before the relocation.”

She also states that “creased or marked paper is placed in a separate tray during the recycling process, so you don’t need to worry about malfunctions in the paper feed. We’ve had no problems like that. I’ve honestly heard nothing but positive feedback from my colleagues. The system is reliable, does what you ask and is fast. It also saves costs and helps in the fight against climate change. What more could you want?”

Supporting the corporate goal

The company Nehlsen GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1923, the headquarters is located in Bremen, Germany. This progressive organisation offers innovative services in the key business areas of waste and resource management, waste water management, plant planning, building and operation and security services. More than 4000 employees are based in 60 different locations throughout Germany and Europe. The company is one of the Top 10 environmental management companies in Germany.

In 2009, Nehlsen internally established the project “pro klima (pro climate)” with the company’s commitment to align their entire business activities on ecological aspects to ensure sustainable conservation of valuable resources. This commitment is a key component of the corporate philosophy.

Toshiba TEC Germany Operations installed two e-STUDIO306LP and one e-STUDIO RD30 as part of their Eco-MDS (Managed Document Services) offer in 2013. The entire offer covered more than 250 Toshiba MFPs and printers. “The Eco-MDS with aspects like the Eco-MFP and the Carbon Zero initiative definitely brings us closer to our corporate goal in line with our ‘pro klima’ project,” explains André Lüllmann, Head of Purchasing at Nehlsen. “Our Board of Directors are also very pleased with the potential savings particularly in the environmental area.”

In 2013 the e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 already won several awards in Japan such as the “METI* Minister’s Awards of Green IT Award 2013”, “Cho (Super) MONODZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components Awards 2013”, and is recognised as a unique solution to reduce environmental burden and to contribute to customers’ efficiency improvement.
