The Ministry of Interior honored the winners and candidates of the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ Awards, as well as the customers who submitted suggestions to develop and improve the services. The honoring ceremony was organized by the sector’s Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Police Officers club in Abu Dhabi.
Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaiaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, stressed that excellence and innovation are key objectives of the citizens of the UAE. He said: “Our sons and daughters understand that excellent and innovative work is a key factor in achieving further progress and development for the UAE, towards leading the global competitiveness race.”
In his speech during the ceremony, Major General Al Khaiaili said that the ceremony aims to honoring distinguished individuals who played an instrumental role in developing the sector and improving performance thanks to their proposals. “This accolade is also designed to recognize individuals who were a leading example of honesty and integrity in discharging their duties, and contributed efforts to thwart any attempts to undermine the security of our country. They are a living proof that there are people who are loyal to their county and their leadership, by attaining the highest ranks in various fields inside the UAE and abroad,” he continued.
Major General Al Khaiaili congratulated the winners who obtained local and international awards, urging everyone to work together to prove to the world that the vision of our wise leadership to be Number One is what drives us. He pointed out that the objective of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector is to ensure the happiness of both staff members and customers, as per the federal government’s approach.
Colonel Suleiman Abdullah Al Dir’e, Head of the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, gave an overview of the system, mechanisms and procedures of applying for the awards and the awards assessment process by a committee representing all of the departments in the sector to ensure neutrality and transparency in selecting the winners.
Colonel Al Dir’e noted that two awards were added in 2015, notably the Assistant Undersecretary Innovation Award, and the Assistant Undersecretary Award for the best suggestion submitted by customers. He also mentioned that, since the launch of the awards in 2013, the number of submitted proposals amounted to 9,556 suggestions, and 715 officers; non-commissioned officers; constables; and female staff members and customers were honored.
Major General Al Khaiaili honored the winners; distinguished individuals and those who contributed their suggestions to develop and improve the services provided by the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai; directors-general of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in the country; heads of department; and a large audience of officers; non-commissioned officers; constables; and female staff members at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector.
