Ravin, CEO, Rimini Street. “With our comprehensive scope of application management services for both Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud products, which includes configuration, development, user administration, and data services within a predictable, cost-effective subscription model, along with proactive services and critical production support, we enable our clients to save time, money and resources, while maximizing the full value of their Salesforce systems.”

Japan Welcomes World Leaders to Its First-ever G20 Summit in Osaka

Thirty-seven governments and organizations gather in nation’s second city to tackle global issues

OSAKA, Japan -Monday 1 July 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On June 28 and 29, Japan hosted the G20 Summit, which was attended by all 20 member parties and 17 invited guests. Held in Osaka, Japan’s second largest city, this was the country’s first time for Japan to host a G20 Summit, having previously hosted the 2016 G7 Summit in Ise-Shima.

At this year’s Summit, leaders discussed important topics on the global agenda. One prominent issue was of marine plastic litter, a problem that is recognized as affecting the marine ecosystem on a global scale.

To demonstrate a commitment to this issue, the G20 Osaka Summit promoted the Ministry of Environment’s Plastics Smart Campaign along with the concept of “the 3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and Renewable” with actions such as using no plastic bottles and straws and introducing renewable materials on site. Throughout the summit period, no single-use plastic products, including bottles, cups, straws, and dishes were available. Instead, attendees were provided with alternative, reusable products and services.

Other items on the Summit agenda included economy, trade and investment, innovation, employment, women’s empowerment, development, and health, all of which were a focus for productive discussions.

Outside the meeting rooms, attendees enjoyed Japanese culture and hospitality. On the first day, they were welcomed to the venue with a display of danjiri wooden float, and mikoshi portable shrines, all used in one of the local area’s famous festivals. The venue interior showcased the Osaka and Kansai region’s unique assets to visitors, including the latest information on Expo 2025. Leaders and their partners were also treated to cultural shows, examples of Japanese heritage, and washoku cuisine.

The country’s cutting edge innovations in fields including robotics, medical, and space also astonished visitors. The expansive Exhibition Space introduces Japanese technology and products related to each category representing the Summit agenda: “Society & Innovation,” “Health & Innovation,” “Marine Plastic Litter & Innovation,” “Energy & Innovation,” and “Economic Cooperation & Innovation.” The space also included exhibits on themes like “The Olympics and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020,” “Disaster Recovery,” “Japan’s Tourism Resources,” and “Traditions.” The total of some 50 displays incorporated a range of entertaining and informative content, from panels and models to videos, and hands-on activities.

The G20 Summit members are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of South Africa, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the European Union.

Latest Supplier Sentiment Survey by Taulia Finds 62% of Suppliers Now Looking for Early Payment – up From 54% In 2016

New supplier survey identifies cash flow gaps and payment predictability as the top reasons for wanting to be paid early

SAN FRANCISCO -Friday 28 June 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

A supplier survey conducted by Taulia found 62% of suppliers are interested in early payment.
39% of suppliers are paid late by their customers.
95% rated Taulia positively for usability.
Almost 20,000 suppliers responded to the survey globally

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Over 62% of suppliers are interested in receiving early payment from their customers, up from 54% in 2016, according to a new supplier survey by leading working capital solutions provider Taulia.

The survey, which was conducted in Q4 2018, gauged the views of over 18,500 suppliers on the Taulia network. Suppliers - ranging from large multinationals to small SMEs - were asked about a range of topics, from early payments to working capital challenges.

Among the findings were some insights into why suppliers would choose to access early payments. The top reasons cited by suppliers included covering cash flow gaps (43%), achieving payment predictability (26%) and meeting working capital needs (21%). Suppliers also cited that they take early payments in order to reduce their DSO and to meet their seasonal cash target. In comparison, only 2% were motivated by the prospect of accessing favorable rates.

However, despite the scale of interest in early payments, 39% of suppliers said they are currently paid late by their customers. “This underlines the considerable opportunity for early payment programs to provide suppliers with much-needed working capital support, while tackling the issue of late payments,” said Bob Glotfelty, Vice President of Customer Success.

The survey also asked suppliers about their experience of using Taulia. Around 95% rated Taulia as very positive, positive or neutral for usability. Suppliers also noted specific benefits such as the platform’s ease of use, timeliness of payments and the ability to receive appropriate statements and notifications.

“In today’s competitive environment, businesses need cash more than ever – particularly in light of the ongoing uncertainty around issues such as Brexit and the US-China trade war,” said Cedric Bru, CEO of Taulia. “Early payment programs like Taulia’s enable all businesses along their supply chain to improve their own working capital.”

iMarketKorea Switches to Rimini Street Support for its SAP Application

Leading B2B e-commerce company in Korea leverages significant savings from switching its ERP support provider to invest in strategic IT initiatives

LAS VEGAS -Wednesday 26 June 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Rimini Street, Inc. (Nasdaq: RMNI), a global provider of enterprise software products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP software products and a Salesforce partner, today announced that iMarketKorea, the country’s leading B2B e-commerce company, has switched from SAP to Rimini Street support for their SAP ECC system. By switching to Rimini Street, iMarketKorea was able to reduce its annual support fees by 50 percent and are now able to run their current stable ERP system for a minimum of 15 years from the time they moved to Rimini Street, without being forced to upgrade by SAP’s published 2025 end of mainstream maintenance window for ECC 6. Because of the premium level of ERP support the company now receives, iMarketKorea’s IT staff have been relieved of the day to day back office system maintenance, which is now entirely handled by Rimini Street, and are able to focus on and support more strategic projects within their company.

Eliminating Dependence on the Software Vendor to Drive Their Own IT Roadmap

iMarketKorea implemented its SAP system in 2012, and today supplies electronic products to thousands of corporate clients nationwide, handling tens of thousands of orders in real time. The company now operates an e-marketplace, an e-commerce site, and a warehouse management system.

iMarketKorea was happy with their stable ECC 6.0 platform and had no desire to upgrade to S/4HANA. In addition, the company did not want to continue to bear the high maintenance support costs in return for little value to their ECC software. iMarketKorea researched third-party enterprise support to decrease their dependence on SAP and reduce their expensive support costs, and selected Rimini Street as their third-party software support partner due to the Company’s established history and experience in providing its reliable, ultra-response support services to thousands of customers worldwide. Instead of relying on SAP’s product development roadmap which seems focused on moving their customers to S/4HANA and not on current ECC 6.0 development – a strategy designed to lock customers in to the vendor’s path – iMarketKorea now has complete control of their IT roadmap. By switching to Rimini Street, the company has eliminated any stress or risk associated with being forced to upgrade to S/4HANA by the vendors published 2025 end of mainstream maintenance date for ECC 6. The company has also been able to fully optimize their SAP platform under Rimini Street’s support, which in turn has enabled its IT teams to focus instead on establishing and operating their own business-driven IT roadmap tailored to address innovation priorities for the business.

“CIOs and IT leaders in Korea are tasked with supporting their organization’s growth strategies, improving efficiency and developing and implementing digital transformation strategies, while at the same time reducing their overall IT costs, and at iMarketKorea it is no different,” said Jo Young-wook, team manager at iMarketKorea. “Our decision to move to Rimini Street has not only allowed us to substantially reduce our annual maintenance costs – which ranked high in our overall IT spending – but we have also been provided a path forward for reinvesting these savings of time, money and resources into our digital transformation planning and implementation.”

As with all Rimini Street clients, iMarketKorea is assigned a senior-level Primary Support Engineer (PSE), who provides rapid response to issues and service tickets, and a quicker resolution on problems than they experienced with the vendor. Rimini Street PSE’s have an average of 15 years’ of experience in the software they support, and are backed by a team of technical engineers 24/7/365. Rimini Street also provides all clients with its industry-leading Service Level Agreement (SLA) that ensures a 15-minute response time for critical issues, and 30-minute response time for P2 issues.

“In a market environment where competition is fierce, iMarketKorea has been able to accelerate its IT infrastructure migration to the cloud, allowing us to break away from the competition; at the same time, due to Rimini Street’s support services, we have also been able to better optimize our internal IT resources and completely transform our IT department,” continued Jo Young-wook.

“CIOs face the challenge of reducing overall IT costs while simultaneously investing their budgets in innovative IT projects for the growth of the organization,” said Hyung-wook “Kevin” Kim, Korea country manager, Rimini Street. “iMarketKorea has been able to secure both the time and the finances they needed to pursue IT innovation projects. At the same time, as with all of our clients, iMarketKorea will be able to receive our ultra-responsive, award-winning support for their mission-critical system for at least 15 years from the date they moved to Rimini Street.”
