Hytera Signs USD 30 Million Contract with Shenzhen Metro Line 12 to Provide Integrated Communication Solutions

SHENZHEN, China -Friday 3 September 2021 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hytera, a global leading provider of Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) solutions, has signed a new contract worth USD 30 million to provide the entire integrated communication solutions with systems, equipment, terminals and services for Shenzhen Metro Line 12.

In the last few years, Hytera has supported five metro lines (Line 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11) in Shenzhen with its TETRA and PDT on-board systems plus a host of value-added services of secure radio communications to improve dispatching and operation efficiency.

Lines 7, 9, and 11 cover 107 kilometers with 68 stations, which each plays an important role in the public transportation of Shenzhen’s urban districts. Line 11, in particular, serves as both the airport line and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity rail line. Hytera provides a complete 800M TETRA digital trunking solution including DIB R5 base stations, on-board mobile radios and handheld radios, as well as a 400M PDT station management system, which enables effective communication, dispatching and voice recording across the control center, train drivers, and station operation staff.

As the first metro lines with full coverage of 5G signals in China, Lines 6 and 10 cover a length of 78.7 kilometers with 47 stations, including the busiest metro interchange stations in Shenzhen. The objective is to cover as wide an area as possible and also provide easy connections to other metro lines, railway stations and surrounding cities. Hytera applied both 800M TETRA solution and 400M PDT solution to provide reliable voice and data communication across control centers, station operators, train drivers and maintenance personnel, allowing individual and group voice calls with on-board terminals and handheld radios.

These solutions have improved both the management for the metro system operators as well as the services offered to the public.

At present, Hytera’s communication solutions for transportation have served more than 10 cities in China. As one of the local high-tech enterprises in Shenzhen, Hytera will make greater effort to contribute to Shenzhen's construction of metros, railways, transportation, airports and other city infrastructures.

NTT Expands Its Data Center Footprint By 20%

NTT named market leader with even more capacity as business online surges

LONDON-Thursday 2 September 2021 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NTT Ltd.’s Global Data Centers division, a Leader in the IDC MarketScape Worldwide Data Center Colocation and Interconnection Services 2021 Vendor Assessment1, provides a full stack of ICT services and continues to expand its global data center footprint by 20% to build a connected future that will benefit enterprise and hyperscale clients around the world.

NTT operates data centers across Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia, including a major presence in India. It delivers and operates global interconnected data centers with cross regional data center networks through key markets such as London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Virginia in North America. Its expansions in data center services provide increased data center capacity and network connectivity across all geographies, including:

Americas:
In 2020/21, three new data center campuses were opened in Hillsboro, OR, Santa Clara, CA, and Chicago, IL, in addition to expansion in Ashburn, VA. NTT’s 47-acre (approx. 190,000m2) Hillsboro campus features five data centers with 126MW of planned IT load and Subsea Connect, a trans-pacific network connectivity service that provides connectivity between Hillsboro, Oregon and Tokyo, Japan using NTT’s Pacific Crossing (PC-1) subsea cable system. The Phoenix, AZ campus will open in early 2022 and be the seventh US data center campus. NTT Phoenix PH1 will add 36MW of IT load capacity and is the first of seven planned data centers on the 240MW campus.

EMEA:
In the past year, NTT has opened new data center buildings in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and Munich and Frankfurt in Germany, continuing its position as the number one data center provider in the German market. In the UK, the new flagship London 1 Data Center opened in December and, when fully operational, will increase NTT’s capacity by over 200% to support the digital backbone of the UK’s financial services, media, and gaming industries. NTT has also invested in duct and fiber to interconnect all its London data centers.

Over the next two years, NTT will increase its available IT load in EMEA by over 40% as it builds 13 new data center buildings across nine markets in six countries to deliver an added 115MW of IT load across 50,000m2. NTT will launch its first data centers in Madrid and Johannesburg as well as adding buildings to Vienna, Zurich, London and across Germany, with expanded data center interconnections.

APAC:
Jakarta 3 in Indonesia will launch 15MW at Bekasi, approximately 30km from Central Jakarta, by the end of this year. By taking advantage of NTT’s strengths as a network operator, clients will be able to easily connect with IXs and ISPs. Additionally, Cyberjaya 5 in Malaysia started to provide 6.8MW and plan to expand another 6.8MW to the Cyberjaya campus. In Japan, a new data center with 21MW of IT load capacity has been built in Tokyo. In response to strong demand from its clients, NTT is considering further expansion in Bangkok (Thailand), Osaka Metropolitan area (Japan), and Southern Vietnam.

India:
With Mumbai 8 going live soon, the Chandivali campus, India’s first operational hyperscale data center park, will reach 85MW of IT load. Over the next 18 months, four new hyperscale data center parks will also become operational: two in Navi Mumbai and one each in Chennai and Delhi, adding approximately 133MW of IT load and 50,000m2 of floorspace. Interconnections for 10 data centers across India will also be rolled out in 2021 and submarine cable landing stations are planned in Mumbai and Chennai. This expansion will further consolidate NTT’s number one position in the Indian market.

In addition to the expansion of NTT’s global data center footprint, NTT is currently constructing a "MIST" large-capacity submarine cable connecting Singapore, Malaysia, and India (Mumbai and Chennai).

The MIST cable system will have a total length of 11,000km: a distance which is further than flying from New York, across the US and the Pacific Ocean to land in Tokyo. Construction will complete in mid-2023.

The infrastructure combination of such a significant increase in global data center capacity coupled with NTT’s status as a tier 1 global network service provider, will provide businesses with a secure platform for increasing full-stack ICT service needs.

Global Data Center Interconnect (GDCI), an integrated global network fabric service that delivers a cross regional data center network and private secure connection to major cloud service providers with a single physical port supporting multiple virtual network services, increases this capability to provide a high speed interconnected digital backbone across its global markets. The increased submarine cable system will also help to provide cross-regional data center interconnections.

Masaaki Moribayashi, President and Board Director for NTT Ltd. said, “The pandemic has dramatically changed our way of life. People’s quality of life now fundamentally depends on this infrastructure. In the next 18 months, NTT plans to increase data center operations by 20% to a total of over 600,000m2 (approx. 6.5M ft2) of floorspace in over 20 countries and regions. In addition, NTT will globally expand approximately 30 connection points of GDCI service in our data centers to optimize the enterprise hybrid cloud environment over NTT’s data centers and network services. NTT has already started construction to add 300MW of IT load to its portfolio. With the completion of new data centers, expanded campuses and high capacity networks such as the MIST submarine cable, we are building a connected future that will benefit NTT's clients around the world.”

Patient Safety Movement Foundation Calls for Action in Advance of Second Annual #UniteForSafeCare Event

 IRVINE, Calif.-Friday 3 September 2021 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The second annual #UniteForSafeCare event is scheduled for Friday, September 17th in conjunction with World Patient Safety Day. The event is hosted by the Patient Safety Movement Foundation (PSMF) and co-convened with The Leapfrog Group to bring global awareness to the lack of safety in healthcare and the fact that more than three million people die each year as the result of unsafe care. The event will explore how the public and other stakeholders can call for high reliability in healthcare, as well as the World Health Organization’s 2021 theme of “safe maternal and newborn care.”

As part of this year’s event, leadership from the Patient Safety Movement Foundation will coordinate demonstrations on both the east and west coasts in honor of World Patient Safety Day. Patient Safety Movement Foundation CEO Dr. David B. Mayer will continue his walk which began in February 2020 to raise awareness of patient and healthcare worker safety. Since starting, he has covered over 3,400 miles and been joined by families impacted by patient harm in over 30 states. This year’s walk will begin on September 11th on the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks to honor the lives lost and impacted, and will start in Gettysburg, Penn. Gettysburg was chosen as the starting point due to its strong visual representation of lives lost during the American Civil War drawing parallel to the lives lost each day due to unsafe care. The walk will finish in front of the White House in a call for action before continuing on to Capitol Hill.

“Over 8,220 people die every day in hospitals worldwide from unsafe care – that’s six people every minute – and the pandemic is making the delivery of safe care even harder,” stated Mayer. “This annual event allows us to bring the community and stakeholders together to raise awareness of this issue and advocate for change to make zero preventable deaths a reality.”

Here are the ways you can get involved this year:

Attend the free virtual event: The virtual event will occur from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. PDT on Friday, September 17th. At the event, attendees will have the chance to hear from Patient Safety Movement Foundation leadership, as well as over 20 speakers including Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, PhD, MSc, director-general of the World Health Organization. Dariush Eghbali, an Iranian artist and humanitarian, will be performing and attendees will have the opportunity to network and access exhibitor booths. In addition, there will be a panel with the showrunner and cast of Peacock’s TV series “Dr. Death” followed by a segment to memorialize the patients we’ve lost due to preventable harm. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on items up for auction – including a private screening and Q&A session with the filmmaker of HBO’s “Bleed Out,” as well as a conversation with Patrick Macmanus, the showrunner of “Dr. Death.” All proceeds of the auction support awareness and education initiatives. To see the full schedule and RSVP, visit: https://patient.sm/B15-UFSC.
Host your own walk: Download the Charity Miles app and walk on your own or invite your coworkers and community to dedicate a walk, run, bike or any movement to show your support for the cause.
Make a donation: Donations help fund awareness and education campaigns throughout the year. Individuals can make donations in honor of loved ones who have been affected by preventable medical harm. PSMF will plant an orange flag in Orange County or Washington D.C. for any donation of $10 or more. To help PSMF reach its goal of $250,000, visit: https://patient.sm/PR-UFSC-Donate.
Share on social: Spread the word and help advocate for safer care by increasing awareness on social media. Use the hashtag #uniteforsafecare or translate it into any language to keep the conversation going globally.
Send in your art: New this year, a virtual patient, family and survivor art gallery is available for individuals to share personal expressions of the emotions they felt as they navigated experiences with medical errors – whether it ended in tragedy or in joy. The art will be displayed along with a place to share the meaning behind the piece. To view the art or submit your own piece, visit: https://patient.sm/B15-Artwork.
Wear and “light up” orange: Show your support by wearing orange, the official World Patient Safety Day color, or lighting up your house, a local monument or business orange. Share your photos on social media between September 13th and September 17th. You can also purchase official campaign t-shirts and hats: https://patient.sm/B15-Shop.
This year’s event is made possible by the generous sponsorship of Dr. Steven J. Barker, Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, HealthySimulation.com, Jewish Healthcare Foundation, Josie King Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, Liamar Healthcare, Medstar Health Institute for Quality and Safety and Teletracking. Morinaga Milk Reveals Major Breakthroughs in a ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ Program With Professional Footballer Yuto Nagatomo

In recent crosstalk, footballer Yuto Nagatomo speaks passionately about his full year on the ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program. “My condition improved because I stayed with it.” “Bifidobacteria ‘saved me’”, he shared.

TOKYO-Thursday 2 September 2021 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Morinaga Milk Industry Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:2264), a pioneer in bifidobacteria and gut microbiota research, reveals that its collaborative ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ project (launched in June 2020) helped professional athlete Yuto Nagatomo improve his gut microbiota. Nagatomo stayed on the program for a full year, and has been outspoken about the changes in his gut microbiota that not only improved his digestive system, but also his physical condition.

About the ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program

The program encourages participants to incorporate bifidobacteria into their existing knowledge, diet, and physical and mental health regimens with the aim of improving the environment of the large intestine through input from inside and outside the body.

The ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program website offers a wealth of information not available elsewhere, including varied content on knowledge, diet, exercise, and mental health, and a profile of Yuto Nagatomo’s gut microbiota shaped by his consistent intake of bifidobacteria since 2020.

1. Overview of Report on ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ CROSS-TALK 2020-2021

Footballer Yuto Nagatomo started taking bifidobacteria in July 2020, during the offseason. He later signed with a French (Ligue 1) team, and his condition suffered as he attempted to adapt to an unfamiliar living environment. However, his digestive system steadily regained its balance thanks to his persistence with the ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program. Our analysis of his gut microbiota revealed inconsistency immediately after his move to France, followed by certain changes that suggested a strong connection between his enteric bacteria and his physical condition.

Nagatomo recognized the changes as they were occurring. “My condition improved because I stayed with the ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program every day,” he said. “Even on days I couldn’t sleep, both my digestive system and my physical condition were stable.” He also noted that his recovery speed had improved, and identified the source without uncertainty. “[Bifidobacteria] saved me.” His condition and performance on the field continuously improved. “I’m so much more confident now that I have the final piece of the puzzle in my goal to represent Japan in the 2022 World Cup.”

He reflected on his full year on the ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program, noting that staying with it was important, yet not all that burdensome. “[Staying with the program] was everything for my gut microbiota,” he said in a nod to a Japanese adage about the value of persistence in sport. “It helped me so much. I’m grateful for the support.”

2. Changes in Yuto Nagatomo’s gut microbiota on the ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program

Dr. Toshitaka Odamaki, Manager of the Microbiota Research Department at the Next Generation Science Institute of Morinaga Milk, analyzed Nagatomo’s gut microbiota over the roughly seven months in which he took bifidobacteria. “The balance of enteric bacteria shifted substantially after [Nagatomo] moved from Japan to France, but his intake of bifidobacteria and balanced meals created a new balance that stabilized in December,” Dr. Odamaki said, also confirming the disappearance of the harmful bacteria may be associated with the cause of Nagatomo’s illnesses. “The analysis showed increases in good bacteria such as bifidobacteria and butyrate-producing bacteria following his persistence with the ‘Bifidobacteria Training’ program.” Dr. Odamaki also noted that Nagatomo had a growing population of bacteria that is linked to the performance of professional athletes.” The changes in gut microbiota could be a factor behind Nagatomo’s sense that his condition improved.”

“This is the first experience to track the detailed changes in an individual’s gut microbial composition,” Dr. Odamaki said. “Our analysis illustrated a strong connection between tangible feelings and enteric bacteria, which are normally hidden from us, a significant finding among Morinaga Milk’s research.”

About Morinaga Milk’s initiatives with Yuto Nagatomo

Morinaga Milk sensed Yuto Nagatomo’s dedication to constant improvement as a professional athlete, evident in his commitment to physical fitness, diet, and other facets of health within his control. We heard of his concern about his digestive system suffering during extended stays outside Japan despite unflagging self-control, and wanted to apply our findings from many years of research to try to improve his intestinal environment and help him continue to evolve as an athlete from the inside out.

Additionally, “nurturing the next generation” is one of the themes of ESG-focused management, a basic policy from our Medium-Term Business Plan. We aim to teach people the importance of food for maintaining healthy bodies and minds, while also helping them grow as people with positive attributes like agency, autonomy, and motivation to take on challenges, all in an effort to nurture the next generation in order to create a sustainable society.

These goals resonate with Nagatomo, who for his part has established the Yuto Nagatomo Football Academy (YNFA), founded Cuore Inc. with the aim of using his influence as an athlete to solve health problems around the world, and devoted energy to activities in support of single-parent families.
