The Federal Community Police Department at the Ministry of Interior has implemented a visits program in a bid to disseminate and boost the Abu Dhabi Police’s experience in applying the Community Police’s policing style, thoughts and work methodology across the UAE. The visits also aim at sharing successful experiences and supporting their implementation.
Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police Department, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee at the Community Police and Acting Head of the Federal Community Police Department, underlined that the coordination consultative visit programs carried out by the police leaders in the Northern Emirates, are in response to the directives of the police leadership. “It included visits to the commanders-in-Chief of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras al Khaimah and Fujairah Police,” he said.
Adding further, Lt. Colonel Mubarak Muhairom noted that during these visits, a number of suggestions and recommendations were submitted to ensure the activation of work teams’ formation in order to provide the necessary human resources and technical support from the specialized departments and sections. “Such visits are also designed to strengthen relations and promote dialogue between police leaders in the different Emirates,” Lt. Colonel Muhairom pointed out.
The Acting Head of the Federal Community Police continued, “The participants highlighted the plans and mechanisms that may be used to achieve the best results. They also tackled the proper ways to engage leaders, committees and relevant members in the decision-making process, in order to better serve and develop police work; upgrade service system basics designed to maintain the public’s security and safety; and promote the community police role in the UAE.”

House-Hunters In Middle East Switch Online To Search For Property
Global property portal releases new research on emerging markets real estate

Using the Internet is the most popular method of house-hunting in the Middle East, trumping traditional means including newspaper classifieds and word of mouth, according to a new report into the region’s property market.
The findings are contained in research from leading property website Lamudi, which today released its first report on real estate in the emerging world. The report, Real Estate in the Emerging Markets, provides a comprehensive overview of the property sector in 16 countries, including Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
The report is based on a series of online surveys conducted with house-hunters and real estate agents in each country, as well as onsite data from Lamudi’s global network of websites. The research examines the habits of online property-seekers, while offering insights into the future of the property sector based on interviews and surveys with local real estate experts.
The agents survey revealed the extent to which the property sector in the Middle East has moved online. When it comes to searching for property, house hunters in Saudi Arabia are now regularly turning to the Web to look for real estate. Ninety-one percent of those surveyed by Lamudi said that the Internet was currently used to search for real estate.
The second survey, which targeted Lamudi customers, examined trends among buyers and renters. The research revealed that in Saudi Arabia, the lack of affordable housing is stopping house-hunters from purchasing property. According to the customer survey, 37 percent of respondents were currently renting as they could not afford to buy property.
In Jordan, 77.8 percent of house-hunters nominated location as the key factor to consider when looking for a new home. Safety and security (55.6 percent), and proximity to friends and family (33.3 percent) also play an important role in the house-hunting process.

This is the first proteasome inhibitor and first investigational therapy for AL amyloidosis to receive Breakthrough Therapy designation.
The development program for ixazomib in this indication progressed directly from a Phase 1 to a Phase 3 clinical trial, TOURMALINE-AL1, which is currently evaluating ixazomib plus dexamethasone in patients with relapsed or refractory AL amyloidosis. This is the only Phase 3 trial for relapsed or refractory AL amyloidosis and it is recruiting globally.
Breakthrough Therapy designation is intended to expedite the development and review of new medicines to treat serious or life-threatening conditions. Breakthrough Therapy designation requires preliminary clinical evidence indicating that the drug may demonstrate substantial improvement on a clinically significant endpoint(s) over available therapies. ZTE Signs Managed Services Contract With Spanish Operator Euskaltel
Following the alliance ZTE will establish its Southern Europe headquarters

(BUSINESS WIRE) - ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has signed a 10-year network-wide managed services contract with Euskaltel, the largest operator in the Basque Country, the most industrial and technologically advanced region of Spain. ZTE will also work with Euskaltel to guarantee its network quality, upgrade its technologies, and extend its services.
Following the deal ZTE will cement its headquarters in Basque Country, dedicated to the provision of services for the entire South of Europe, from where it will serve telecommunications operators in Spain, Portugal and the countries in the south of the continent.
Euskaltel was founded in 1995 with its headquarters in Derio, Basque Country, Northern Spain. With strong brand influence, healthy financials and high-quality networks and services, it is the preferred network provider for government, enterprise and residential users in the region and has high customer loyalty. In the Basque Country, Euskaltel has a 43 percent share of the broadband access market, 47 percent share of the fixed network market, and 60 percent share of the digital TV market. (BUSINESS WIRE) - ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has signed a 10-year network-wide managed services contract with Euskaltel, the largest operator in the Basque Country, the most industrial and technologically advanced region of Spain. ZTE will also work with Euskaltel to guarantee its network quality, upgrade its technologies, and extend its services.
Following the deal ZTE will cement its headquarters in Basque Country, dedicated to the provision of services for the entire South of Europe, from where it will serve telecommunications operators in Spain, Portugal and the countries in the south of the continent.
Euskaltel was founded in 1995 with its headquarters in Derio, Basque Country, Northern Spain. With strong brand influence, healthy financials and high-quality networks and services, it is the preferred network provider for government, enterprise and residential users in the region and has high customer loyalty. In the Basque Country, Euskaltel has a 43 percent share of the broadband access market, 47 percent share of the fixed network market, and 60 percent share of the digital TV market. The company also started to commercialise mobile services in 2007.
Euskaltel made the decision in 2013 to review its managed services providers, and ZTE tailored the solution that was most suitable for its requirements. ZTE's service subsidiary in Southern Europe (ZTE Managed Services Southern Europe S.L.) will provide Euskaltel with network-wide managed services including NOC operation, field maintenance, last-mile maintenance, service provisioning and assurance, enterprise customer implementation and assurance.

With the signature of the contract,133 of Euskaltel's employees will join ZTE's service subsidiary, and will provide high-quality services for more customers in the future. ZTE has customised a manpower transfer solution for them, which safeguards Euskaltel's targets, ZTE's, and the transferred employees' interests, and lays a solid foundation for smooth service transfer and contract delivery.
To provide agile and high-quality services, ZTE will establish its headquarters in the Zamudio Technology Park, where Euskaltel's headquarters is located. The new headquarters will also create new employment opportunities in the area. This organisation will provide technical support in accordance with Euskaltel's network evolution plan to meet its requirements for multidimensional development.
Euskaltel and ZTE will establish the voice over IP (VoIP) service for Basque Country users. One of the benefits of this new service is that it allows for the incorporation of all types of voice, multimedia and data services in a platform which can be accessed from any device connected, whether from a landline or mobile devices.

The Higher Committee for Child Protection at the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Interior (MoI) participated in a charity auction in Belfast, Ireland. The event, held on the sidelines of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix aims to help Irish families with children who have cancer.
Two VIP tickets for the Formula 1 Grand Prix races brought in the most money at the auction. Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of Interior, oversaw the initiative; and said:

Spirit of National Heritage Prevails in ADP Celebrations for 43rd National Day

The celebrations of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters for the 43rd National Day continued amidst an atmosphere mixed with the spirit of national heritage and authentic UAE traditions. Celebrants of the 43rd National Day include the Al Mafraq Juvenile Care Center, the Training Department, and the Crime Scene Department.
Amidst a large presence of officers and employees, Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Nehkairah, Head of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Juvenile Care Center's Steering Committee in Abu Dhabi; and Colonel Mohammed Saif Matar Al Zaabi, Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police, attended the event. The celebration, hosted by the Al Mafraq Juveniles Care Center, witnessed the participation of the Law Respect Culture Bureau, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC).
Colonel Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Bu Hindi, Director of Al Mafraq Juveniles Care Center, said: “This event commemorates what is dear to all of our hearts, hence the center is committed to ensuring constructive communication amongst institutions that care for juveniles and that strive to correct and rehabilitate their behaviors. Together, we can instill a sense of belonging and loyalty in their hearts in order to prepare a generation that loves their country and is capable of maintaining its values and principles.”
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem in front of the flagstaff alongside the releasing of balloons and doves. A march around the pitch followed in the celebrations that also included a traditional tent, a performed formation of the UAE flag, and an exhibition of handicrafts. Rabab Al Amiri, Director of the Social Education Home, gave a speech on this occasion emphasizing the love and loyalty that citizens of the UAE have toward their nation and leadership.
The juveniles performed in theatrical performances which included a National Day Play, a Juvenille Operetta, an Al Yolla traditional dance, and traditional music. Staff members of the center recited national poems and Dr. Ramzi Al Shebah reviewed his personal life journey in a performance entitled “Giving Back” as a school performed a show of traditional games. Upon the conclusion of the event, competitions were held for the audience.

The Training Department at the Human Resources Directorate General celebrated the 43rd National Day in a traditional and fragrant atmosphere of genuine heritage. The celebration was attended by Brigadier Obeid Belhubalah Al Kutbi, Head of the Selection and Recruitment Department at Abu Dhabi Police; and Colonel Thani Butti Al Shamesi, Head of the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police; in addition to a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, individuals, and civilians.
In his speech regarding the establishment of the UAE and of its 43rd National Day, Colonel Al Shamesi congratulated the leadership, police members, and citizens of the UAE. He said: “The celebrations for the anniversary of the National Day are expressive of the pride for a past that was built upon a steady foundation of determination and resolve, and for a bright and promising future.”
The celebration of national performances included an Al Yolla traditional dance by the students of Al Nahda National Schools; the recitation of a national poem by Captain Ahmad Kamidsh from the Training Department; a performance of traditional music by the Bin Nu’man Al Harbiya Band; traditional competitions; and a contest for the ‘best flag costume’ for the children of the Training Department’s staff members.

The Crime Scene Department celebrated the 43rd National Day in the attendance of Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department at Abu Dhabi Police; Major Saeed Al Jaberi, Deputy Head of Crime Scene Department; and a number of officers, lecturers, and department staff members.
In his speech addressed to the audience on this occasion, Colonel Al Hammadi said: “The thread of history has been woven with the most beautiful phrases that piece together the journey of the union and the formation of a significant period in history for the peoples of the region. The vision of the leadership provided a unique model for the unparalleled harmony of a nation that was able to draw the world’s attention towards its civilization and progress. The female members also had a unique role in the events. The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ kick started the festivities to mark the UAE 43rd National Day. The Air Wing Department helicopters stood in formation on the tarmac, forming the number 43. The Al Ain Traffic Section also took part in the celebrations, while the Community Police Department, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, commemorated the huge achievements attained under the Union in a celebration held at the Community Service Center in Al Shamkha.
Brigadier Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Mazroui, Head of the Air Wing Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, said, “Our annual celebration of the National Day is a precious occasion to all of us, as it reflects the sincere pride in the establishment of the United Arab Emirate (UAE), under the leadership of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahya, may God have mercy upon his soul.”

The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ kick started the festivities to mark the UAE 43rd National Day. The Air Wing Department helicopters stood in formation on the tarmac, forming the number 43. The Al Ain Traffic Section also took part in the celebrations, while the Community Police Department, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, commemorated the huge achievements attained under the Union in a celebration held at the Community Service Center in Al Shamkha.
Brigadier Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Mazroui, Head of the Air Wing Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, said, “Our annual celebration of the National Day is a precious occasion to all of us, as it reflects the sincere pride in the establishment of the United Arab Emirate (UAE), under the leadership of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahya, may God have mercy upon his soul.”
“The Abu Dhabi GHQ is keen to mark this historic day across all of its departments, as a way to express full confidence in the wise leadership of the UAE. This year, the Air Wing Department at Abu Dhabi Police has chosen to undertake a creative new feat as part of the celebrations, by forming the number 43 on the tarmac using 10 helicopters,” Brigadier Al Mazroui added.
In the same context, the Al Ain Traffic Section at the Traffic and Patrols Department of Abu Dhabi Police organized a recreational societal activity on the sidelines of the government and private celebrations of the National Day. The event, which comes at the invitation of the UAE Red Crescent-Al Ain Branch, was organized at Al Jahili Park in Al Ain, with participation of the Community Police and a number of schools in the city. Mohammed Yusuf Al Fahim, Deputy Secretary General for Support Services, UAE Red Crescent, attended the event.
Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, said, “Taking part in such societal activities aims at ensuring continuous communication with all community segments, in order to enhance their awareness and spread traffic culture.”
The Community Police Department organized a national celebration at the Community Service Center in Al Shamkha, in cooperation with ADEC, ADSC and the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City.

Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said, “Today we are experiencing a sense of joy and pride with our beloved country, which is celebrating 43 blessed years of union. Both citizens and residents enjoy a well-rounded and happy life thanks to Allah Almighty and to our higher leadership. On this auspicious occasion, we commemorate the countless outstanding achievements and the many milestones attained by the UAE, which contributed to making it a highly respected and admired country worldwide and positioned in the front row among the most civilized countries in the world. Through this celebration, we seek, not only to express our joy, but also to reiterate our belonging to this country and dwell on the march of welfare and prosperity that we enjoy under our higher leadership.”

For his part, Captain Salem Al Kathiri, official at of the Community Service Centers in Al Shamkha and Al Falah, said, “These nationwide festivities are part of the UAE celebrations to mark its historic establishment, through the various societal activities organized by the Community Police Department of Abu Dhabi Police. The program included a number of field visits to Al Shamkha residents to distribute invitations and urge them to take part in the festivities; as well as a panel discussion meeting with parents in the morning and the evening period; and a set of traditional and cultural activities throughout the week.”
Captain Al Kathiri added: “The week-long festivities include a number of activities, notably marathon with the participation of the residents and school students in the area, as well as people with special needs. They all come together to express their love for the UAE and their happiness with the national day. Furthermore, the activities will include a traditional and heritage discussion, in addition to a variety of entertaining shows.”
